Cartaya BSR

Cartaya BSR is an 8 year old Canadian Warmblood mare. Straightforward, brave, and sensible, Cartaya is the perfect horse for a junior or amateur looking for a 0.90-1.10m jumper. Cartaya has show miles from 0.7-1.0m at venues such as Spruce Meadows, Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, and Thunderbird Show Park. She is the same horse at home and at shows. She requires zero prep and is keen to do her job, willingly jumping all fill types. More of a forward ride, Cartaya would be suitable for someone looking for a competitive and fun ride. She is by the well-known local stallion, Carthago Sun I, who has produced countless amateur friendly sport horses. Cartaya is out of a Thoroughbred mare who was on track to compete at Young Riders in Eventing until sustaining a career ending injury. Given Cartaya’s pedigree and type, she could excel in eventing or show jumping. Cartaya hacks out alone or in a group. She goes in a snaffle and has clean lead changes. Cartaya loves to cuddle and isn’t mareish.

Cartaya has also produced two quality colts: a lovely colt by Le Primeur in 2018 and a gorgeous colt by Omano BC in 2022.

Due to the pandemic, she has not shown since 2019. In 2021, she was bred but ultimately ended up losing the foal in the summer of 2022. She has been back in work since the beginning of November.
